Tommy's upcoming album is featured in the new movie "The Katrina Diaries", a documentary about the effects of hurricane Katrina on Tommy's hometown of Biloxi, Missisippi.
Born May 23, 1950 in Liverpool England to a Mom and Dad in the US AirForce, Tommy Miles traveled the world and ended up in Biloxi, MS at Age 9. Six years later he was fronting bands like Rock Pyle & Shaft on the "Chitlin' Circuit" until 1969 when hurricane Camille hit the coast.
Over the next decade Tommy moved to California, and took extensive time off recovering from an auto accident.
In 1979 the Merlin Sights Band was formed at the urging of friends in the Willie Nelson Family Band, Chris Ethridge, and Jodie Payne; the band called it quits in 1982.
After working with Delaney Bramlett and Spooner Oldham writing and recording, Tommy eventually moved back to Marysville to be near his daughter; he's settled there and continues recording and writing and travels to Nashville a few times a year for projects.
In October of 2005 Tommy performed in Muscle Shoals, Alabama with Delbert McClinton, Billy Swan, Dan Penn, Spooner Oldham, and Donnie Fritz.
Tommy's new album, "Take Me Back to Biloxi" (Merlin Sights Records) will be released this year and will be available on Amazon.com, CDBaby, and iTunes downloads. The Band Harmony -n- Gritz consists of Spooner Oldham on piano & organ, Steve Tucker on drums, Melissa Copenhaver on fiddle, and M.T. Miles on bass.
